Phoenix Cricket Club

home

First formed in the Winter of 2005, Phoenix are a 'wandering' team based in & around the Heathrow area playing local Sunday Friendly cricket at a weak medium level. During the 2009 season, Phoenix, have once again outshone themselves as they raised their own standards both in terms of ability and results; preparations are currently underway in making next season just as eventful.  Affectionately known as Jason's Argonauts in previous years under Jason's tenure as skipper, this season we are led by his brother Fabian and will be known as Fabian's Legion.

We bring to all a culture of laughter, spirit and the sense of being a family mixed with an amalgam of exciting cricket specially blended with skill, guile and sportsmanship. Our motto is 'We make the standards for others to follow' and thus this type of fusion cricket is integral to our performance & behaviour.

For those that share the same desire & passion and either want to add us to their fixture list or for players that want to join our club then please send us a message.

We all look forward to 2010 which will be our fifth season and hopefully emulate once again the success of the seasons before - so let the games begin since nothing betters the sound of willow on leather and the eruption of noise that follows the scoring of the winning run.

The Week That Was & Is : The Week Beginning Mon 1 February 2010

The Phoenix Cosa Nostra
The theme is Mama's boy on holiday. Fabian & Zee went to Turkey. Indi is in Morocco and Tushar is in Dubai but the common factor is that they all live with their mums. Just before they went they said to me that they had the perfect advice as neatly summarised by the chorus of the title track of the bolloywood film Ek Ajnabee (translates to 'A Stranger'):

Mama Told Me Dont Be Talking To Stranger
Dont Be Talking To Stranger
Stranger Is Danger

 Last Weeks Result
Last game of the 2009 season was a win over Pinkneys Green.

This Weeks Fixture
Season is over and the next game is versus Bovingdon on 18th April 2010.
