Match report Beat Emmbrook & Bearwood by 71 runs. Sethi was in charge as Tour captain & on winnig the toss elected to bat first and also decided to mix the batting and bowling line ups. Vishal and Mannu opened the batting & Mannu got into swing of things quickly with a quickfire 34 which included 6 fours and a six, the first wicket fell at 45 in just 7 overs. Then a mini-collapse as we lost Babbu & Hitesh in 2 balls and all of a sudden batting didn't seems as easy as it once looked.

Vishal & Farhan then began to repair the damage and put on 154 runs to break the 5th wicket partnership held by Wendel & Harsha who had put on 135. Vishal played at his fluent best hitting 12 fours and 4 sixes for his 96 and Farhan played with his usual aggression hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes for his fifty. Vishal hit two consecutive sixes over the extra cover boundary showing his confidence but the shot of the day was his bullet cover drive for four off the quick bowler as the ball didn't lift off the carpet. The nervous nighties got to him as he got bowled trying to whip the ball of his legs and everyone gasped as he didn't reach his maiden century.

At tea, Phoenix had score 234 in 35 overs. Sakhil was the wicketkeeper with Prince & Soloman opening the bowling who soon had Emmbrook & Bearwood struggling, with Prince using seam & swing and Soloman his spin variations as they restricted the scoring as well as taking wickets. They took 5 for 24 in their spell and it was a time to relax in the field. Hitesh & Babbu came onto bowl and did a fine job and finally Sanj & Sakhil wrapped up the innings as the light began to fade.
