Portsmouth 2024
Portsmouth, a historic port city on England's southern coast, was established in 1180 and became a key naval base by the 16th century. Its strategic importance peaked during the World Wars, with its dockyard playing a crucial role in British maritime defense.
So the Phoenix boys found their little watering hole with no one was lost as we travelled down from London. Three days for the Phoenix army to pillage and drink into merriment and fun with cricket the last thing on our minds. We stayed in Portsmouth but the cricket played were versus Portsmouth Community, Emswoth and Bagshot on 7-9 June.
- Eastney, a suburb of Portsmouth, England, developed from a small rural area in the 19th century into a notable military base with the establishment of the Royal Marine Artillery Barracks in 1867.
- Emsworth, a coastal town in Hampshire, England, evolved from a medieval fishing village into a significant center for oyster farming in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
- Bagshot, a village in Surrey, England, has origins dating back to the Saxon era and developed as a key coaching stop on the London to Exeter route during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Phoenix on tour are a team full of laughter and comedy. To quote Mark Twain (AmericanHumorist, Writer and Lecturer. 1835-1910), " Humor is the great thing, the saving thing. The minute it crops up, all our irritation and resentments slip away, and a sunny spirit takes their place."
So another tour came & passed and yet again Phoenix showed their true colours and infected everyone involved with laughter, spirit and the sense of being a family.
