Match report
Déjà vu is a French phrase meaning "already seen", and it refers to the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously.
The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques ("The Future of Psychic Sciences"), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness," "strangeness," "weirdness," or what Sigmund Freud calls "the uncanny." The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience has genuinely happened in the past.
Also Deja Vu is a 2006 film directed by Tony Scott starring Denzel Washington and Boogie Down Productions (BDP) was a hip hop group originally comprised KRS-One, D-Nice, and DJ Scott La Rock.
Phoenix once again lost the toss and was asked to field first on a hot day. What happend next is not worth a full match report since only Phoenix can snatch defeat from the mouth of victory,
Egham came out to bat and their opener made a chanced life one hundred and forty two runs to get his team to two hundred and twenty five off their alloted set of overs. The young man was dropped twice on twenty five and thirty seven and also Phoenix should have had him out on a simple run out when he was on sixty four.
Phoenix started well and always looked comfortable with contributions from Big Daddy Pump who made forty-eight, Sethi who made thirty-nine, Sofian who made thirty-five and Naresh who made twenty.
All of a sudden Deja Vu struck and Denzel Washington would have been just has amazed on what happend next. Phoenix were crusing to victory as they reached one hundred and seventy seven for four in the twenty eighth over. With only forty eight runs needed for victory all looked simple until the Prodigious Cricket Collapse ensued as Phoenix lost the final six wickets for just thirty five runs in just seven overs. The crucial wicket was Naresh being run out that then exposed the tail.
The man of the match award goes to Rowdy for positive attitude throughout the day who never complained but only encouraged. The half man and half amazing BDM Amazer award goes to Fab and Shaunak for managing to drop two catches of the same delivery.
A special thanks to Egham for their great teas and never losing hope as they battled like a united team. Big Daddy Pump was pulling his hair out but he controlled his fuming ways. Phoenix need to get down with BDP and become a unit as they are infamous for. As for Phoenix, another collapse which lead to defeat. Another irresponsible attitude - when will the team learn?
To quote Bernard Cornwell OBE (born 23 February 1944 is an English author of historical novels) “Looking back, of course, it was irresponsible, mad, forlorn, idiotic, but if you don't take chances then you'll never have a winning hand, and I've no regrets.”
