Match report
With Kully and Fabian back at the helm of the ship what could go wrong as Kully pointed out the direction as Fabian navigated towards the very same place. A dandy duo they make. The team circumnavigated the A4, M4, M25, A404 & anyother road you can think of to get the the ground. From Cranford to Ruislip to Watford to Northwood did the team travel.
You Don't Mess with the Zohan is a 2008 American slapstick comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan, written by Carlito Cabardo, and produced by Adam Sandler, who also served the role as the main protagonist of the film.
The plot summary, to quote : Zohan Dvir (Adam Sandler) is a superhuman but kind-hearted Israeli counter-terrorist and the finest and most respected soldier in the Israel Defense Forces. However, Zohan has become both disgusted and disenchanted by the constant fighting, secretly dreaming of moving to the USA and becoming a hairdresser. This reaches a breaking point when a barbecue he hosts is interrupted by the IDF sending Zohan on a mission to stop a Palestinian terrorist group being led by his personal arch-enemy, Fatoush "the Phantom" Hakbarah (John Turturro). Despite being upset over his party ruined, Zohan sees it as his long awaited chance to desert the IDF and move to America. During the pursuit he fakes his own death and smuggles himself onto a flight to New York City, cutting his own hair and taking the alias "Scrappy Coco" (the names of two dogs he shared the flight with) while claiming that he is "Half Australian, Half Mount Everest." Meanwhile the Phantom becomes incredibly rich and famous for supposedly killing Zohan and starts his own fast food business, "Muchen Tuchen".
Now hat happend next was nothing more than a film script. The senior pros Kully & Fab gave the team a good start and once they were out the young guns Ali, Vishal & Alex went out gunning for revenge. Fabian smashed his way to thirty eight as he hit seven fours with four of them coming in the one over, Ali showed his hidden talent with eighty five as he whalloped eleven fours and two sixes, Vishal did not know what all the fuss was as he hit the fast bowler for ten in the first over he faced and Alex played the leg spinner with ease as he cruised to a comfortable twenty four. At tea, Phoenix had made a pleasing two hundred and three runs.
What happened next is a repeat of the exactly what happened last year - dropped catches of batsman who were on zero & then posted fifties each, scorebook errors, questionable umpiring and to make matters worse Phoenix allowing the heat of the moment get to them. OMT were in the mood making their own film called "You Don't Mess with the Sohan" as the opposition skipper took the game away from Phoenix.
The man of the match award goes to Ali for his eighty five & batting under pressure and the half man and half amazing BDM Amazer award goes to Fabian for finding the Fourth Bakri Brother Grimm. A special mention to Fabian for passing the two hundred runs mark, Ali for passing the one hundred runs mark and Rowdy for passing the twenty wicket mark for this season thus far.
Well done to Old Merchant Taylors who the game and the 'too funny' banter. Everyone had a part to play in victory as they did in defeat - Never let defeat have the last word. "It is better to be defeated on principle than to win on lies" is a statement made by Arthur Calwell (Australian Politician. 1896-1973) that we all should take heed.
To quote George Eliot (English Victorian Novelist. Pseudonym of Mary Ann Evans, 1819-1880) "There are many victories worse than a defeat.”
