Phoenix Cricket Club Lost 46 runs
Match report
Game 14 Hounslow Hurricanes!
**Result:** Lost by 46 runs
The match against the Hounslow Hurricanes was a tough contest that saw our team fall short by 47 runs. Despite a strong start with the ball, we ultimately couldn't capitalize on our early momentum.
**First Innings: Bowling and Fielding**
We began with a promising performance in the field, as Sanj took a sharp catch in the slip. Our fielding effort was commendable, with no dropped chances throughout the innings. However, the absence of a full squad and having only three recognized bowlers put additional pressure on our team. This imbalance contributed to us conceding a hefty total of 267 runs in 35 overs.
A significant portion of the runs came from extras, with 48 gifted to the opposition. Furthermore, our fielding lapses allowed an additional 30 runs due to misfielding, making the target even more challenging.
**Second Innings: Batting**
Our run chase got off to a shaky start, with Rajkaran dismissed for a duck. Despite this early setback, there were some standout performances that brought hope to our side.
Kay Hayat played a solid knock, scoring 56 runs off 52 balls, including 10 boundaries. The star of our innings was Muhammad Chohan, who delivered a spectacular century, scoring 104 runs off 105 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes. Together, Chohan and Khizar built a formidable 3rd wicket partnership of 164 runs in 19 overs, which was the highlight of our innings.
**Fielding Highlights**
Ajit's dedication in the field was exceptional, as he tirelessly chased down every ball, saving an estimated 10 runs. Additionally, splendid catches by Jibin, Sanjeev, and Vishal were key positives in our fielding efforts.
**Summary**
Despite the valiant efforts and individual performances, our chase ended at 220 runs. The disciplined bowling and fielding by the Hurricanes ultimately made the difference.
Despite the loss, the efforts and determination displayed by the team were commendable. We will take these positives forward and aim to bounce back stronger in the next game.
