Result: Won by 103 runs

The penultimate game of the season ended in emphatic style as Phoenix produced a superb all-round display to secure victory by a commanding 103 runs. Phoenix scoring 201 off their 30 overs and bowling out OMT for 98 in just 23 overs.

With rain around, the decision to play a 30-over match proved to be a wise one. Batting first, the foundations were set by Muhammad Chohan, who anchored the innings with a composed 53 off 79 balls (6 fours). Supported well by Ginni, Shantanu and Salman gave the side momentum and stability. Ashik added late fireworks, including a massive six that lifted the energy levels of the entire team.

OMT’s chase was met with tight, disciplined bowling and electric fielding. While the damp pitch made the new ball tricky, the bowlers quickly adapted and found their rhythm. Farhan Mayo started strongly with the new ball before Ashik, Salman and Shantanu dismantled the middle and lower order. Special mention to Shantanu, who polished off the tail with clinical efficiency.

The fielding was another highlight — sharp, committed, and full of energy. Multiple runouts (Farhan and Ginni) were testament to the collective intensity, with Shantanu, Syed and Ginni leading the charge in the field. Behind the stumps, Naveen Vaddi was superb, conceding very little and keeping morale high with his presence.
Not to forget the unsung hero’s of Itmadin and Sheraz who quietly do what is asked of them and deliver to their upmost ability. All teams require a strong backbone like this.
