Phoenix Cricket Club Won 120 runs

Match report Game 23 v Waldron
Result: Won by 120 runs

A DAY TO REMEMBER AT WALDRON
Some cricket grounds have history. Waldron has a story. With cricket being played at the historic ground since 1757, it was a real privilege and a proud moment for

Phoenix to walk onto such a historic venue and play the game we love. And what followed made the occasion even more memorable.

A CENTURY DOUBLE ACT
Phoenix won the toss and put together a sensational batting performance, producing two centuries in the same innings.

The second-wicket partnership between Vishal-Karna Kumar and Khizar Hayat was simply outstanding — 173 runs in 24 overs.

Vishal-Karna led the way with a superb 101, including 11 fours and 3 sixes, with an incredible 47 scoring shots.

For Khizar, it was a landmark day. He followed up his excellent 67 in the previous game with his maiden century for Phoenix, scoring 102, also including 11 fours and 3 sixes, from 47 scoring shots.

What made the partnership even more remarkable was how closely they matched each other — identical numbers of boundaries and scoring shots.

A formidable duo. A phenomenal partnership.

Phoenix eventually set Waldron 259 to win from 35 overs, giving the home side a challenging target to chase.

THE BOWLING FINISHES THE JOB
Tea was a relaxed affair for Phoenix. The hard work with the bat had created a strong platform, and with 259 required, there was a real sense that victory was within reach.

Waldron went after the chase, but Phoenix steadily turned the screw.

Chris played aggressively, smashing his way to 47 before Sanjeev once again claimed the wicket of the opposition opener.

His partner remained unbeaten on 70, but with wickets falling around him, he eventually ran out of partners — and, ultimately, overs.

There were several excellent bowling performances, but special mention must go to:
Sheraz Ahmad — 4-1-10-4
Adnan Wadood — 7-1-14-1

Both bowled superbly, applying pressure and ensuring Waldron couldn’t sustain the required scoring rate.

Phoenix eventually completed an emphatic 120-run victory.

Player of the Match: Khizar Hayat
A day Khizar will remember for a long time. A brilliant maiden Phoenix century and a key part of a record-breaking partnership. Congratulations, Khizar!

Final Thoughts
Today was worth the wait. After a difficult run of results, Phoenix finally returned to winning ways — but perhaps more importantly, we did it by sticking together.

We never lost hope. We never lost faith. We supported each other. That’s teamwork. And that’s the dedication that matters.

From the historic surroundings of Waldron to two brilliant centuries and a convincing 120-run victory, this was a day to remember.
