In the penultimate game of the season, Phoenix secured an emphatic 7-wicket victory over OMT, with contributions from every department—batting, bowling, and fielding. After losing the toss, Phoenix was put into the field, and the team responded brilliantly, showcasing their sharpness in the field and effectiveness with the ball.

OMT set a target of 163 on what was a batting-friendly wicket, aided by a fast outfield. The bowlers rose to the challenge, with Moin, Shantanu Rawat, Uspal Ks, and Sanjeev Kumar all grabbing two wickets each. However, it was the fielding unit that shone brightly, claiming seven dismissals through a combination of catches, stumpings, and run-outs from Moin, Manoj, Asif, Unni, Kay, and Vishal.

Chasing 163, Phoenix’s batting unit came out with intent, keeping the run rate under control from the start. Contributions from Vishal, Manoj Dalvi, Mohammad Asif, and Kay Hayat, who all made double figures, ensured Phoenix stayed ahead of the required rate. The star of the chase was Kay Hayat, who anchored the innings with a stunning unbeaten 75 off 52 balls, laced with 14 boundaries. His composed and aggressive knock earned him the Player of the Match award.

Phoenix comfortably chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand. This win also adds another chapter to the friendly rivalry with OMT, which dates back to 2006.
