Phoenix Cricket Club Won 10 wickets
Match report
Game 3 v Hampton Woodlawn
Game 3 brought another dominant performance from Phoenix CC as we cruised to a 10-wicket win over Hampton Woodlawn, continuing our unbeaten run this season.
For the third match in a row, we lost the toss and were asked to bowl first—and once again, our bowlers delivered with precision and aggression. Mitul and Salman set the tone early, ripping through the top order to leave the hosts reeling at 10 for 3 after just 4 overs.
Sam Sam was metronomic with the new ball, finishing with an exceptional 4-0-5-2, while Mitul Bathia was unplayable during his spell, picking up 4 wickets for 27 runs in 8 overs, earning him a well-deserved Player of the Match.
Sanjeev Kumar tightened the noose even further with a clinical spell of 7-5-6-2, offering no release for the batters. In the field, we were sharp and alert—Chohan held onto two smart catches behind the stumps, Kay Hayat continued to live up to his “safe hands” reputation at mid-off, and Vishal stunned everyone with a lightning-quick catch at short mid-wicket off a ball that was absolutely smashed.
Mannu Singh and Farhan Imlak wrapped things up neatly with a wicket apiece, as Hampton Woodlawn were bundled out for just 73 in 23.5 overs.
After a well-earned tea featuring Itmadin Vegdani’s Noor’s legendary Chicken Biryani, our openers came out hungry for more.
Rajkaran Aulakh and Muhammad Chohan made light work of the chase, smashing the required runs in just 9.3 overs. Rajkaran led from the front with a blistering 40 off 27 balls, which included 5 fours and 2 towering sixes—one of which took him to a major milestone: 100 sixes for Phoenix CC, the first ever player to do so. Chohan supported brilliantly with a fluent 34 off 20 balls, stroking 7 boundaries as we sealed the win in style.
Final thoughts:
Three games, three wins—momentum is building, and the squad is firing on all cylinders. With bat, ball, and in the field, the team continues to raise the bar. Let’s keep pushing forward, Phoenix!
