Match report Game 21 v South Nutfield
Result: Draw Rain Stops Play

Sometimes cricket can be cruel.

After a disrupted season and with Phoenix looking to finish strongly, the team travelled to South Nutfield ready for another competitive contest. Unfortunately, the weather had the final say.
Phoenix were 197-7 with five overs remaining when the heavens opened, bringing the game to an early end. With the innings well placed and plenty still to play for, it was a frustrating way to finish.

Player of the Match: Rajkaran Aulakh
Another outstanding contribution from Rajkaran, who anchored the innings with an excellent 74 from 84 balls, including 12 fours and a six. He was unlucky not to reach his century, eventually dismissed by a magnificent catch at deep square leg. His innings provided the foundation for Phoenix to post a strong total before the rain intervened.

Final Thoughts
A frustrating ending, but plenty of positives to take.

At 197-7 with five overs still remaining, Phoenix had put themselves in a strong position and were building towards a competitive total. The weather may have denied us the opportunity to finish the job, but the effort and application were there.

After the disappointment of recent results, the important thing is that we continue to stay together, keep competing and keep believing.

Only a few games remain. Let’s finish the season with the same spirit, togetherness and passion that has carried Phoenix throughout the year.
