Phoenix Cricket Club Won 4 wickets

Match report Game 3 v Roehampton Cricket Club
Result: Won by 6 wickets as we chased 90 runs.

A superb all-round performance saw Phoenix CC secure a convincing 6-wicket victory over Roehampton. Winning the toss proved crucial, and the decision to bowl first on a tricky surface was fully justified by a clinical display with ball and in the field.

First Innings – Phoenix Bowling & Fielding
Phoenix were outstanding from the first ball, bundling Roehampton out for just 90 runs.
• Farhan Imlak set the tone early, removing the top order with 3 key wickets, alongside a sharp catch.
• Sanjeev Kumar then took control, weaving his magic with the ball to claim a brilliant 5-22, dismantling the middle and lower order.
• Julius Dcunha was electric in the field with two direct-hit run outs.
• Kay Hayat showed safe hands with a well-taken catch.
• Muhammad Chohan contributed with a stunning diving catch in front of first slip and a sharp stumping.
• Adnan Wadood completed the innings with the final catch, sealing Sanjeev’s five-wicket haul.

A complete bowling and fielding effort kept constant pressure on the opposition and never allowed them to settle.

Second Innings – Phoenix Batting
Chasing 91 was never going to be straightforward on a pitch offering movement. Roehampton came out with intent, and Phoenix found themselves in trouble early at 44-4.

At that point, calm heads were required—and delivered.
• Julius D’Cuna & Salman Merchant put together a crucial 50-run partnership, stabilising the innings.
• Salman Merchant played a decisive hand, scoring 31 off 23 balls with 6 fours, ensuring the chase was completed with confidence.
