Mytchett 2014
On May 20, 1941, Rudolf Hess was transported from the Tower of London to Camp Z which was at Mytchett Place. This had been specially set up for his arrival with heavy security and bugging devices. Hess spent 13 months at Camp Z, which was the scene for one of his failed suicide attempts; he had thrown himself off a balcony on June 15, 1941. The June 1942 move from Mytchett Place was to become notable following the release of MI5 files in 1999. Previously unfounded rumours had claimed that Hess was moved because intelligence reports indicated that a Polish group was planning to break into the Camp Z, kidnap Hess, and beat or kill him by way of revenge for Nazi atrocities in Poland. The MI5 files included a reference to reports of a gun battle between Polish soldiers and guards at Mytchett, although no precise details were given, so the link is not conclusive.
On September 6, 2014, Phoenix were transported from Cranford to the Potters Inn Hotel. This had been specially set up for their arrival with heavy drinking and bugging of each other a must. The scene of Whiskey & Vodka sessions were a success as no one failed an attempt to drink a double. Previously unfounded rumours had claimed we are a non-drinking club but this was quickly dispelled with atrocities committed in the nightclub. The Phoenix files now include reference of dubious dancing & awful chat up lines for the local lasses, although no precise details were given as what goes on tour stays on tour.
WIth the cricket we lost to Old Woking on the Saturday and beat Shepperton on the Sunday.

I am James Bond – goes to Raman for the only person who dressed up to go out clubbing
Jaegerbombing – goes to Sanj & Vini for they lost count on how many they drank
I am no coconut – goes to Vishal who tried to ignore the maddness of the boys
Alcohol Free Night – goes to Gurdeep who thought he could pull without getting drunk
Triple Threat Match – goes to Prince, Sakhil & Babbu as they were always in threes
Tag Team – goes to Prince & Sakhil for always taking selfies with each other
Thanks for coming – goes to Meher for his first night out on a tour
Phoenix on tour are a team full of laughter and comedy. To quote Mark Twain (American Humorist, Writer and Lecturer. 1835-1910), " Humor is the great thing, the saving thing. The minute it crops up, all our irritation and resentments slip away, and a sunny spirit takes their place."
So another tour came & passed and yet again Phoenix showed their true colours and infected everyone involved with laughter, spirit and the sense of being a family.
